Hugh was born sometime between 1839 and 1842. He married Janet Wylie on 10 Jul 1865 (1) in Huron. Hugh gave his details as aged 23, born Canada, living Turnberry Township, Father James Hockridge, Mother Mary. Janet gave her details as aged 34, born Scotland, living Turnberry Township, Father John Wylie, Mother Margaret. (I do not know why Hugh gave his fathers name as James, possibly a mistake in transcript if anyone has seen the original do let me know)

Hugh died before 1881 as Janet is on the Census as a widow living alone
