John H Hockridge died 6 Sep 1900 (3) aged 64 years, 6 months. Died of Brights disease. A carriage maker by trade. Born in Kilkhampton, Cornwall on March 1st 1836, the eldest son of John Chichester Hockridge. Settled in Bradford in 1856, after first going to Bowmanville and Newmarket. Married Miss Elizabeth Ann Peat of Bowmanville in 1860, and he died on the day of their fortieth anniversary. Brother of Mr William Hockridge, of Cobourg and Mrs Mcelwin, of Toronto and has another brother and sister in England. Survived by his widow and three children. Mrs McKay, Mrs Whiteside and W J Hockridge. Interred at Mount Pleasant.
Elizabeth Ann Hockridge died 4 Mar 1909 (3) aged 69. Born in Devonshire, England. Came to Canada when she was nine years old and spent her first nine years in Bowmanville. Lived in Bradford with her husband for fifty years. Mother of Mrs McKay, Mrs Whiteside, and Willie, from the West. Also survived by her mother's sister Mrs Buckler, who is 94 years old, and lives in Bowmanville, and her brother Mr Richard Peat, of Jamestown, New Jersey. Interred in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, next to her husband John.

George McKay grandson of the late John Hockridge died Aug 25 1907, in his 28th year. Lucretia McKay died June 5 1912, in her 54th year.
