I have found four children for John and Mary, but there is a 10 year gap between two of the children so there may be more to add.

John's second marriage was to Wilhelmina Elder. They married on 26 July 1874 (4) in Mara, Ontario. John gives his details as, aged 39 years, living Epsom, born Scarboro, Widow, Hotel Keeper. Parents John Hockridge and Eliza. Wilmelmina gives her details as aged 25 years, living Mara, born Mara, Spinster, parents James and Janet Elder. Witnesses to the marriage were John Smith, Mara and James E Elder, Mara

There are variations as to where the children were born, but by 1901 the family was living in Proton and John had changed occupations from Hotel Keeper to Farmer.

Wilhelmina died on 27 Dec 1908 (2) in Proton. the details given were - aged 60 years, born Simcoe Co, Residence Lot 5 Con 5, Proton. Housewife, married. Cause of death Cancer of Stomach 2 months duration.

John died on 5 Dec 1909 (2) in Proton. the details given were - aged 75, Residence Lot 5 Con 5 Proton Township. Farmer, Widowed - Cause of Death, Cirrhosis of Liver and Asthmatic for one year.
