Lewis was born about 1842 (1) in Launcells, Cornwall. He married Mary Ann Colwill on 6 Feb 1864 (2) in Launcells, witnesses to the marriage were Daniel Paddon and Maria Colwill.

Mary Ann Colwill was born about 1841 (3) in Camelford, Cornwall. Her father is Andrew Colwill.

Lewis like his father worked as a Mason. He and Mary had three daughters

Lewis died in 1871 (5) aged just 29 years. After Lewis's death Mary married William Croote in 1882. (6) by 1901 Mary was again a widow, she died after 1901.
