His second marriage was to Mary Sloane on 14 Nov 1877 in Fingal, Elgin, Mary Sloane born about 1818 in Ireland, parents Joseph Leffler and Elizabeth Ainscombe. Samuel was a widow - builder, parents Samuel Hockridge - Mother Grace Harvey. Witnesses to the marriage were Thomas Sloane, Dunwich and John Sutherland, Fingal.(5)
Samuel and Mary are buried in St Thomas Cemetery, West Ave, St Thomas, Elgin - There is a headstone (Grey stone fallen on ground) (4)
Samuel Hockridge died Dec 20 1886 aged 68 years - Mary wife of the above Died Aug 26 1886 aged 72 years.(4)

The date given in the transcript could not be correct if Grace was his wife or his mother, more research is needed to check the date given.
