SAMUEL HOCKRIDGE 1853

Samuel was born 1853 (1) in Tavistock, Devon. He married Ann Cole in 1875 (2) in Durham.

Ann Cole was born about 1856 (3) in Buckland Monachorum, Devon.

Samuel and Ann began married life in Hetton Le Hole, Durham, where Samuel worked as a Coal Miner. Samuel moved his family to the United States in 1882, settling in Iowa. The 1900 US Census shows they had three children, one had died, but I have only been able to identify one son so far. Samuel and Ann remained in Iowa. (Samuels date of Naturalization in the United States was on 1 Nov 1886 in the court of Mahaska Co, Oskaloosa, Iowa)

Thomas Hockridge Born 1875 (4) in Hetton Le Hole, Durham

Samuel and Ann were buried in Oakview Cemetery, Troy. Samuel died in 1919 (5) and Ann died in 1931 (5)
